Description of Rod Mill

The rod mill is a beneficiation equipment which is named so because the grinding media is a steel bar and the wet overflow type is the most commonly used today. It can be used in first level open-circuit grinding, widely applied to artificial stone/sand, mineral processing plant, chemical plant and power plant.

Working Principle of Rod mill

As a beneficiation equipment, the rod mill is a horizontal rotating device transmitted by the outer gear. The materials are fed to the grinding chamber through the quill shaft uniformly. There are ladder liner and ripple liner and different specifications of ceramic ball in the chamber. The centrifugal force caused by rotation of barrel brings the ceramic ball to a certain height and impact and grind the materials. The ground materials are discharged through the discharging board thus the grinding process is finished.

Features of Rod mill

♦ Power saving

Forui rod mill saving more than 40% power compared to the traditional machine. The product particle size is uniform with less aggregate coarse particles and slime. The particle size characteristics of open circuit grinding rod mill almost are same with that of closed circuit ball mill product.

♦ Uniform particle size

The particle size of the material can be adjusted easily with the inner particle size controller and screening device.

♦ Uniform discharging size and high yields

This beneficiation equipment adopts advanced controllable feeding and discharging technology, be equipped with suitable grinding body according to actual abrasive materials, changes the traditional surface contact to line contact and gets more uniform feed size and higher yields; it applies to ores of different hardness (Mohs hardness is between 5.5 to 12).
